GIRTS CELMINS
SHORT BIO
Girts Celmins is a composer, arranger, guitarist and educator originally from Latvia, but currently based in Maastricht, Netherlands.
With over 15 years of musical experience, Beside to being a jazz and blues guitarist, Girts is specialise in composing for a variety of ensembles, including string quartets, chamber orchestras, jazz bands, and big bands.
Performed in many places in Latvia and abroad with various amazing artists from all over the world, as Gerhard Ornig, Daniel Cacija, Karlis Vanags, Andris Buikis, Renars Lacis, Lasse Lindgren, Lynn Seaton, Raul Soot, Ritvars Garoza, Davis Jurka and many more.
At the moment guitarist and composer lives in Maastricht, Netherlands and currently he is active in composing - writing original music for the big band, chamber orchestra and composing music for short films and animations. As well he is arranging musical compositions for smaller bands in different styles and genres.

Actively working with collectives, such as "Girts Celmins Urban Jazz Collective", "Coolbop Trio" and “Girts Celmins Quartet”.
